JAMMU, May 8: A delegation of All JK +2 Lecturers’ Forum called on Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma in his office Chamber under the leadership of RS Slathia ( Chairman) and President, Pardeep Singh Rakwal.
This was the first formal meeting of the Forum with the newly appointed Director School Education Jammu, who was submitted a memorandum of demands.
During the meeting with DSEJ, the issues which came up under discussion, included ATD and regularization of I/C Lecturers. Pardeep Singh Rakwal requested the Director to open all zones for the purpose of selecting preferences including the one in which he/she is currently working. Rakwal said that District and Zone should be followed by list of schools in the ATD portal so that a lecturer could opt a school out of the list. This would make ATD more teacher-friendly, he added.
R S Slathia urged Ashok Sharma to decide the current zone of an applicant on the basis of distance of his/her place of posting from the District Headquarter of his home district and not the district headquarter where he is presently working. He also pointed out that the hard zone areas of Jammu division where examinations are currently under way be included in Zone- V in the interest of justice.
President, Rakwal raised the issue of regularization of incharge lecturers including those holding PG degrees through distance mode in Science stream in one go at the earliest to address the issue on priority.
The Director asked the delegation members to put all their queries before him so that he could satisfy them. Regarding ATD, Sharma assured the delegation that the reservations of the Forum vis-a-vis some changes as proposed by them would be taken care of.
