NEW DELHI, May 29: Lead prices today rose by 0.36 per cent, or 45 paise, to Rs 126.60 per kg in futures trade on speculative buying on the back of rising spot demand.
Besides, a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also influenced prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month (May) traded 45 paise, or 0.36 per cent, higher at Rs 126.60 per kg with a turnover of 116 lots.
The metal for delivery in June also rose by 45 paise, or 0.35 per cent, to trade at Rs 127.55 per kg, in a business turnover of 25 lots.
Marketmen said apart from fresh positions created by speculators following better demand from domestic battery-makers, a firming trend in base metals at the LME, influenced lead prices. (PTI)
