Lead futures remain up on rising demand

NEW DELHI, July 27:  Lead prices rose further by 0.27 per cent to Rs 147.90 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in building up positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery for delivery in July edged up by 40 paise, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 147.90 per kg in a business turnover of 1,776 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in August was trading higher by 30 paise, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 148.80 per kg in 144 lots.
Market analysts said widening of positions by participants on the back of rising demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot markets, mainly led to the rise in lead prices at futures trade. (PTI)
