SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Former Member Parliament and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Nazir Ahmad Laway today resigned from the party. However, he was expelled from the party two years ago.
He was expelled from the PDP on November 1, 2019 for what PDP had termed “anti-party activities”, after he had attended the swearing-in ceremony of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. “The member of Rajya Sabha, Nazir Ahmed Laway, has been expelled from the basic membership of the party,” a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) spokesman said in a statement on November 1, 2019.
He is likely to join the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (PC). However, he said he is joining a regional party in next 11 days.
