JAMMU, Nov 18: A law student of University of Jammu (JU) died in a road mishap here in the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station, late last night.
According to a police official, a youth identified as Abhishek Kholi (22) son of Rajesh Kohli, resident of Basohli (Kathua), was killed on the spot late last night at Dogra Chowk flyover, when a bike on which he was travelling, was hit by an unknown vehicle.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu and today after completing all medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. The Nowabad police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations.
Meanwhile, a speeding Maruti car today turned turtle at Nandni in Jhajjar Kotli area of city outskirts. In the mishap, driver of the car who was identified as Mohd Hanief son of Shab Din, resident of Byepass Nagrota, got injured. He was shifted to GMCH for treatment while Jhajjar Kotli police had taken cognizance of the matter.
