Lavasa gives directions for proper sanitization of city

JAMMU, Apr 5: In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is giving special focus on sanitation of the entire city by intensive thermal fogging and spraying of disinfectants.
JMC Commissioner, Avny Lavasa has directed JMC Health Officer to spray disinfectants in the all the areas falling within JMC limits especially in red zone areas on war footing to keep a check on the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
Apart from this, daily sanitization of Government Medical College, Bakshi Nagar; Sarwal Hospital, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, SMGS Hospital, CD Hospital, Super Specialty Hospital and all the Quarantine Centres is also being conducted.
The JMC is also conducting special drives in all the residential and commercial areas of Jammu City to keep a control on the spread of Coronavirus.
A handout of JMC stated that as far as the security and safety of front line workers is concerned, JMC has provided all kind of safety equipments like hand gloves, masks, hand sanitizers, soaps, goggles, gum boots and Personal Protective Equipment Gears (PPEG) to ensure their safety.
The handout also mentioned that Commissioner JMC is personally monitoring each and everything on ground and is also focusing on the health and well being of the frontline workers deployed for the cleanliness and sanitization purpose and Health Officer was directed to ensure proper utilization of PPEG by the frontline workers.
The JMC Commissioner has also appealed to the general public to avoid major gatherings at public places and make use of alcohol based hand sanitizers and masks as preventive measure to do away with the menace and also to cooperate JMC so that Coronavirus pandemic can controlled.
