VARANASI:In order to attract more tourists and give it an international look, the famous Ganga aarti at the Dashashwamedh Ghat in the temple city will have laser show from next month.
Though Kashi’s river front as well as the evening aarti on banks of the Ganga has been fascinating people for years and now the laser show will certainly raise the grandeur of the aarti.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who represents Varanasi, had also announced to develop the ghats of Kashi, besides making the Ganga Aarti an international feature. Regional tourist officer Ravindra Kumar Mishra said here today that efforts were on to enhance the grandeur of Ganga aarti with a laser show.
The Ganga aarti would be followed by a 25-minute laser show based on the theme and ‘Ganga Awataran’ (descending of Ganga from heaven to earth) and mythological as well as cultural aspects of Varanasi.
The proposal has been accepted by the senior tourism authorities, and now the regional office was working in coordination with Ganga Seva Nidhi, which conducts Ganga aarti, and Planners India to begin it as soon as possible. (UNI)
