KATRA, June 16: In a major success, Katra Police seized a large quantity of illicit liquor from a house near Railway Road Katra.
The recovery included 11 sealed packs of liquor containing 396 filled poly pouches of   J&K Excise, each of 250/250 ml.  Moreover, 14 empty cases were also seized from the spot which were used for transportation of liquor.
The success was achieved by a Police team, headed by Inspector Kuldeep Krishan Pandita, SHO Katra, under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Addl SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi.
The team  apprehended one person namely Vishal Sharma of  Mahadev Mandir,  W No.11 Reasi  at Railway Station and recovered 20 poly pouches of  illicit liquor along with cash of Rs 6540,  earned by the sale of liquor, from his possession.
During the investigation and on the disclosure of the accused person, Police raided the house of one Rakesh Sharma alias Raju Gunda of W No 12, Katra.  The raid was conducted in the presence of SDM Katra and SDPO Katra.
Police has registered a case in this connection and launch a hunt to nab the other accused  Rakesh Sharma, who fled away before the raid.
From the perusal of Police records, it was established that Rakesh Sharma was a habitual offender of law with a record of criminal activities.
