Large number of devotees throng ‘Shri Gou Gopal Mahayagya’

JAMMU, Dec 25: A sea of humanity was witnessed at the ongoing historic “Shri Gou Gopal Mahayagya” in Sohanjana today on the 10th day, which coincided with the 57th birthday of His Holiness Shri Dewarika Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj, being celebrated today every year.
On the occasion, a grand “Rath Yatra” was taken out around the venue of Mahayagya, which was led by sacred chariot carrying the idol of “Lord Shri Bankebehari Ji Maharaj” along with holy “Charan Padhukas” of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj.
The holy Samadhi Sathal of Shri Shastri Ji Maharaj was also beautifully decorated with flowers and colourful buntings, where equal number of devotees also paid their obeisance and sought blessings.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh flanked by his wife Mamta Singh, State President, BJP Mahila Morcha and Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Choudhary also graced the occasion with their presence.
The programme was held under the supervision of Swami Gangadhar Ji Maharaj.
This 11-day long “108-Kundiya Mahayagya”, which is being solemnized in the serene ambience of sacred Tawi river, witnessed the gathering of devotees in lakhs today and going to conclude tomorrow with “Puranaahuti” (final offerings).
A galaxy of highly learned Sanskrit scholars and renowned pandits from different parts of the country are conducting this Mahayagya.
Moreover, the religious discourses are being delivered by renowned saints and bhajan singers.
A number of prominent religious figures and saints from all across the country and the State have also graced this ongoing programme including Shri Bal Yogeshwar Ji Maharaj, Baba Ji from the holy place of Mathwar and other noted religious personalities.
