JAMMU, June 26: The Sector 2 Lane 3 of Nanak Nagar has plunged into complete darkness from late last night after the local transformer developed a snag.
The residents of the area said that there has been no response from PDD to replace the transformer despite the repeated pleas.
Narinder Singh former Director Information who also resides in the area said that when contacted the PDD officials were not knowing about the cause of power failure in the area.
He said when the department officials came to know about the transformer having been damaged they said there was no crane available to lift the damaged transformer and when the crane was made available to lift the transformer later again the new transformer could not be installed due to non availability of crane again.
Mr Singh said there was also no response from higher authorities of the department and people were forced to face problem in this humid and hot temperature.
