Land ‘reclaimed’ in Amritsar

It was merely talked about previously rather lamented that huge chunks of land purchased by Jammu and Kashmir long back at Amritsar was not in legal “possession” of the then State Governments and a decree was instituted in 2006 but execution petition was initiated in the year 2017 only . The case was vigorously followed up for the last one and a half year which resulted in bearing desired fruits.
It is heartening that following a favourable decision in favour of Jammu and Kashmir on December 13, last year , this issue is resolved after more than five decades and the Resident Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir Government has now been in a position to retrieve 20 kanals of this land and has taken possession thereof too. It may be noted that this land is valued at crores of Rupees . The total area of the land is 32 kanals out of which 20 have been taken possession of.
