NOWSHERA, May 5: With the immediate intervention of SDM, Deputy Uppal, the attempt of some people to grab Government land was foiled today.
As it came to the notice of the local administration that some people including relatives of local Bar near Cooperative Society building were trying to encroach nearly 6 marla of land on old GREF road, the SDM along with Tehsildar and other revenue staff reached the spot and issued directions to stop the work on Govt land. The SDM issued notice to one Rakesh Kumar Sudan and his brother Arun Sudan allegedly involved in this illegal activity.
The land falls under Khasra 2811 and belongs to State Government, an official spokesman said.
