KATHUA Dec 7: Police team of Police Station, Lakhanpur today seized 40 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested an inter-state narco smuggler.
Acting on a tip off, Police team of Police Station, Lakhanpur under the directions of Inspector, Susheel Sharma, SHO, PS Lakhanpur during checking duty at Lakhanpur intercepted one truck bearing Registration Number PB29R-7089 coming from Kashmir towards Punjab and recovered 40 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in five boxes.
Police team seized the narcotics, arrested the driver namely Avtar Singh, S/o Kuldeep Singh, R/o Village Galib Kalan, Jagraon Ludhiana Punjab and registered a case FIR No 131/18 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act.
