JAMMU, July 16: Lajwanti Medical Trust today organized a cancer screening camp for women in Chatha Farm Gurudwara with the help of Panch of Chattha, Gurmeet Kour.
The camp was conducted by Dr Kasturi Lal, Director of IOGCH, Lajwanti Medical Trust. He was assisted by the team of doctors and nurses of IOGCH, where they examined 25 female patients.
The patients who were identified to be prone for cancer during the camp will be provided treatment without encumbrance by the institution.
During the camp, doctors informed the patients that if they improve voluntary acceptance of screening, they can prevent and detect the cancer in women in early stages. “Cancer detected in early stages can be treated and cured”, they further told the patients.
The institution is convinced that cancer screening programmes and awareness camps in villages can help to educate the community about risk factors in cancer and eradication of cancer through acceptance of screening strategies.
