LAHDC Polls: 10 BJP candidates file nominations

JAMMU: Eyeing on majority in Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), at least ten BJP candidates for different constituencies filed their nomination papers in the presence of senior functionaries of the party today.

State Vice-President BJP and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma, who is also the Incharge of scheduled LAHDC elections here said BJP candidates filed their respective nominations from Thicksay, Sakti, Igoo, Upper Leh, Lower Leh, Phyang, Saspol, Temisgam, Nimu Basgo and Khalsee in the presence of senior functionaries of the party.

Terming the elections as historical, Mr Sharma stated that the elections are as important as any other elections and it will be seen that the expectations of people are met by all candidates of the party.

”Twenty three candidates have already been finalised by the party high command, he said, adding, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his visit reviewed the status of elections which shows even the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned about these elections.

He also informed that in the coming days, leaders from New Delhi will also visit the areas in order to carry on with the election process so that majority of seats could be bagged in these elections by the party. (AGENCIES)
