KATHUA, Aug 27: A lady died after being hit by a car on National Highway at Hatli today while she was crossing the road.
She has been identified as Rano Devi, 65, wife of Prasad Ram of Panyari Hatli. She had come to J&K Bank Hatli Branch in connection with some work and soon she started crossing the Highway after coming out of the Bank for her home, she was hit by a car bearing Registration Number 4964, JK014D. The driver of the car took her to District Hospital Kathua and seeing her condition critical the doctors referred her to GMC Jammu. But she died on the way.
The driver of the car fled from DH Kathua but the police has seized the vehicle. Hatli Police has also registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started manhunt for the driver.
