KATHUA, July 7: In another breakthrough in its drive against the trade of illicit liquor, Kathua police seized approximately 10 litres of illicit liquor (desi) at Dadoli area of Police Post (PP) Nagri Parole and arrested one lady on the spot.
Acting on reliable information regarding the trade of illicit liquor by few persons at Dadoli and its adjoining area of PP Nagri Parole, a police party led by PSI, Rahul Prashar IC PP, Nagri Parole under the supervision of DySP, Headquarters, Kathua, Manjeet Singh and Inspector, Sudhir Sadhotra, SHO PS, Kathua during special checking in the area apprehended one suspected lady namely, Madhvi wife of Vicky of Dadoli tehsil Nagri Parole, district Kathua.
During checking approximately 10 litres of illicit liquor was recovered which she had kept in her illegal possession and was selling the same to the people of the area in order to gain illegitimate profit.
Meanwhile, all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor was seized and the lady was arrested.
In this regard a case vide FIR No. 291/2023 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act got registered at PS Kathua and further investigation is underway.
