JAMMU, May 8: Miran Sahib and Ramnagar Police arrested six persons including a lady with illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Sultan Mirza conducted raid at Village Khour Deonian and apprehended five persons including a lady along with 40 litres of illicit liquor. 100 litres of lahan was also recovered and destroyed on the spot.
The arrested persons were identified as Soma Devi, wife of Gian Chand of Khour Deonian, Parveen Kumar, son of Kaka Ram of Maralia Miran Sahib, Shinda, son of Santokh Ram of Dinday Kalan Miran Sahib, Roshan Lal, son of Isher Dass of Village Gazia Miran Sahib and Rakesh Kumar, son of Om Prakash of Village Gazia Miran Sahib.
A case under FIR Number 47/2021 under Section 48-F Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Police Station Ramnagar headed by SHO Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Dr Bhishm Dubey conducted raid in the house and recovered 1 litre of illicit liquor and 35 litres of lahan. The recovered liquor has been seized and lahan was destroyed on the spot.
The team arrested the house owner, who was identified as Ajeet Kumar, son of Munshi Ram, a resident of Lehar, Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 64/2020 under Section 48 (e) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar and investigation initiated.
