RAJOURI, May 8: The police authorities in Rajouri arrested an accused who was absconding in a POCSO case registered in Kandi Police Station.
Police said that on April 28, 2021, an FIR No 39/2021 US 376/506 IPC, 4/15 POCSO Act was registered at Police Station Kandi on a written complaint, wherein a minor girl had been sexually abused by two accused persons.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was immediately constituted comprising of DySP Ops, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Insp Ashiq Hussain (IC PP Peedi) and PSI Bharti Angral and investigation was set into motion.
Immediately police parties were deputed to track and arrest the accused, who were found to have fled district Rajouri, said police.
Consequently, on April 29 2021, one of the accused namely Rameez Ahmed Sheikh, son of Assadullah Sheikh, resident of Batpora, Budgam was tracked in Budgam and arrested.
For the arrest of the other accused, namely Manoj Kumar Jatav, son of Ram Khilari, resident of Badh Hindaun City, district Karauli Rajasthan, several witnesses and technical evidence were examined, based on which the accused was tracked and after hard efforts the team led by DySP Imtiyaz Ahmed and SHO Kandi Habib Pathan arrested the accused today.
Further investigation into the matter was in progress.
