Labour Dept holds awareness camp for construction workers

Srinagar, Dec 8: Labour Department here today held an awareness camp for construction workers of Srinagar and briefed them about various welfare schemes.
Assistant Labour Commis-sioner, Srinagar, Malik Tariq said the camp was organized in presence of lead Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, officers’ and was also attended by Deputy Labour Commissioner Kashmir, Ghulam Rasool, Inspector Factories, various trade unions and labourers.
He said on the occasion, the construction workers were made aware about different schemes of Labour Department for construction workers and also about bank insurance policies for them. “We have 20,000 registered construction workers in Srinagar and we appeal other workers of un-organized workers to register themselves and avail benefits of various schemes,” the Assistant Commissioner added.
