Lab Asstt of Govt institution arrested for killing wife

JAMMU, Oct 14: Peer Mitha Police arrested a Laboratory Assistant of a Government institution for killing his wife over long family dispute.
As per police sources, a lady Iqbala Begum (40), daughter of Mohammad Yousuf Pashu of Keshwan, District Kishtwar was found murdered with injury marks with a sharp edged weapon on her neck and abdomen.
On getting information, a team from Police Station Peer Mitha rushed to the spot and took the body into its custody.
After conducting autopsy the body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites and accordingly a case under FIR Number 66/19 under Section 302 RPC was registered.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Peer Mitha led by SHO Nayat Ali rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the husband of the deceased lady.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Yakoob Shah (55), son of Jalaud Din Shah of Manthala Thakrie District Kishtwar, at present Gujjar Nagar Jammu. The accused was working as Lab Assistant in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Gujjar Nagar.
Police team also recovered weapon of offence from the scene of crime.
The deceased was the second wife of the accused and the couple had two sons. The motive behind murder was long family dispute.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
