KVIB adjudged as best PMEGP implementing agency: Dr Hina

Jammu, Jan 11: The performance of J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) in implementing Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) was adjudged best among all the State KVIBs of the country during the year 2018-19.
This was stated by Vice Chairperson KVIB Dr. Hina Bhat during a contact-interaction programme organized by KVIB enroute Bari Brahmana to Bishnah Jammu today. KVIB conducted several contact/interaction programmes from Bari Brahmana Jammu to Bishnah disseminating the schemes being implemented by it. Secretary/CEO KVIB, Rashid Ahmad Qadri, Dy. CEO KVIB Divisional Office Jammu, Tilak Raj, Board Member. Rajesh Gupta, District Officer, KVIB Jammu S. Parmjeet Singh, Chairman Municipal Corporation Committee Bishnah, Rajan Sharma and other senior officers of the Department were also present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hina Bhat disclosed that the PMEGP and JKREGP are online schemes and not involving physical paper work thus ensures complete transparency viz scheme implementation. She said that the J&K KVIB under PMEGP during the year 2018-19 against the physical targets of 1898 units and financial targets of Rs. 4745.12 lakh has disbursed margin money amounting to Rs. 5601.47 lakh to 2866 units, thus achieving physical achievement of 151% physically and 119% financially. This way it provided employment to 17196 persons. She informed that despite internet restrictions in the State during the current financial year against the target of 633 units the KVIB has released margin money to the 791 units involving an amount of Rs. 1668.46 lakh against the assigned financial target of Rs 1898.6 lakh thus achieving 125% physically and 88% financially till date.
Later Vice Chairperson inaugurated some PMEGP units along the way enroute Bari Brahmana to Bishnah which include one Milk Product Unit of Amrik Singh with a Project cost of Rs. 10.00 lakh at Bandhu Rakh Jammu, a Beauty Parlour unit of Minakshi at Jalala Chak Bishnah Jammu involving a Project Cost of Rs. 5.00 lakh, another unit of Shubam Multania with a Project Cost of Rs. 10.00 lakh and one Steel Fabrication unit of Arun Sharma involving a Project Cost of Rs. 25.00 lakh at Bishnah Jammu.
Dr. Hina exhorted youth of the area to come forward and establish their units under various schemes of KVIB thereby creating employment opportunities for themselves but for others as well.
