JAMMU, Jan 11: IGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh flagged off 150 students on ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour from DPO Samba.
IGP was accompanied by Vivek Gupta, DIG JKS Range and Shakti K Pathak, SSP Samba.
IGP flagged off the students in presence of Deputy Commissioner Samba, senior officers of Police, Army, PMFs, Civil Administration, respectable persons of the District Samba and parents of the touring students.
The weeklong tour concluding on January 17 is being organized by District Police Samba under the directions of Police Headquarters J&K which is an initiative of Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI.
The group of 150 students includes 86 boys and 64 girls selected from across the District Samba are participating in this Tour Programme under the supervision of 10 police officers of District Police Samba as care takers going along with them including 1 Gazetted Officer.
On the occasion, IGP Jammu while interacting with the touring students advised them to avail the opportunity by taking best out of this tour as they will be visiting places of historical importance and tourist interest.
SSP Samba in his address said that this tour will provide the students new experiences and vast exposure to visiting places that would be really helpful for them in their studies.
The students on Bharat Darshan Programme will be visiting Delhi and Hyderabad & there they will explore the places of historical importance and tourist interest which will really help them in a long way to broaden their knowledge base. All the touring students will experience their maiden journey by Air when they will depart from New Delhi to Hyderabad and vice versa as per tour programme.
At the last, vote of thanks on behalf of District Police Samba was presented by Additional SP Samba.
Among others, all the Gazetted officers of District Police Samba were also present on the occasion.
