JAMMU, May 10: Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu celebrated its Annual Day cum KVS Golden Jubilee today at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University Campus with great pomp and show.
Pradeep Gupta IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, and Chairman, Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) was the chief guest on this occasion while A S Gill, officiating Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Jammu Region), was the guest of honour. Dr R S Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Nominee Chairman, was also present during the programme.
The function started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana and welcome song by the students. Incharge Principal, Romi Amrit, presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the students and staff of the Vidyalaya.
The students presented various like Yoga Presentation, Hindi Skit and other cultural items like Salsa, Voilen Play and Bhangra.
The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour gave away the prizes to the deserving students for their achievements in the field of Academics and other Co-curricular activities.
The teachers who were honoured for their achievements at Regional and National level included Raj Kumar, Chitra Mishra, Natha Ram, Jang S Verman, Joginder Lal, Rajni Baliya, Vandana Jamwal,Yogesh Katyal, Sandesh Bhat, Joginder Lal, Shashi Bala and Jaswinder Singh. The teachers who gave 100% results during last session were also honoured.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Gupta thanked the students and staff for the display of their talent at local, State and National levels in different fields of activities. He appreciated the progress shown by the Vidyalaya in all spheres.
AS Gill in his address said that the quality education provided by the KVs has no parallel to it. He added that Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is providing quality education not only in the country but at abroad also.
