SRINAGAR, Apr 29: The Kashmir University (KU) today announced that its four more journals have been included in the prestigious UGC (University Grants Commission)-CARE (Consortium for Academic Research and Ethics) list.
The newly included journals are ‘Bazyaft’, published by the Department of Urdu; ‘Iqbalyaat’, published by the Iqbal Institute of Culture and Philosophy; ‘Alamdar’, published by the Sheikh Ul Aalam Centre for Multidisciplinary Studies; ‘The Business Review’, published by the Dean, School of Management Studies, an official statement issued here read.
These four journals join the ranks of two previously included journals ‘Tarseel’, published by the Centre for Distance and Online Education and ‘Journal of Himalayan Ecology and Sustainable Development’, published by the Department of Environmental Studies, a spokesperson said in the statement.
“The KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan, has been monitoring the process, while the Director, DIQA (Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance), Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah played a pivotal role in facilitating the inclusion process,” the spokesperson said.
In her message, KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan, expressed her satisfaction on achieving the feat and said that the inclusion of these journals is a significant achievement for the university that has garnered positive attention within the academic circles and other forums.
“The university has submitted nine additional journals for consideration to be included in the UGC-CARE list, with expectations of favourable outcomes in the near future,” said the VC.
She further said that the concerned teams overlooking the inclusion of KU journals have been diligently pursuing this matter with the concerned offices at UGC, New Delhi and Savitri Bhai Phule University Pune.
Director, DIQA, Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah said: “We look forward to further enhancing the varsity’s academic standing through continued excellence in research and publication.”
