Kurt Cobain paintings to debut at Seattle Art Fair

NEW YORK, June 30: Two paintings by music icon Kurt Cobain are all set to be unveiled at Seattle Art Fair, which will be held in August.
The visual arts division of United Talent Agency, which represents Cobain’s estate, will man a booth showcasing two never-before-exhibited paintings, one of which was used as the cover of Nirvana’s 1992 B-side album ‘Incesticide’, reported New York Post.
UTA Fine Arts director Joshua Roth said, the plan is to “create a touring exhibition that really tells the story of who Kurt was through artworks, personal artifacts and memorabilia, sort of like what the Rolling Stones did in London”.
The paintings by “Smells Like Teen Spirit” singer will be shown alongside works by artistes such as Nate Lowman, Elizabeth Peyton, Raymond Pettibon and Mike Kelley.
Earlier, the 2015 Kurt Cobain documentary, titled “Montage Of Heck” featured a bunch of drawings from the late Nirvana frontman.
The festival will run from August 3 to August 6. (PTI)
