UDHAMPUR, Aug 16: Locals of village Kulwanta today staged a protest demanding the PMGSY Department to through the Kulwanta to Ladana road, which is blocked for the last one week due to landslide following heavy rains in the area.
This 14.5 km road was already in worst condition because of no incomplete works and following its complete blockage for the last seven days, the villagers of Kulwanta and Ladana are without any surface link between the two villages.
The villagers, including men, women and children, assembled at the road side and raised slogans against district administration as well as PMGSY Department. “Due to heavy rains, the road link between Kulwanta to Ladana is blocked for the last 7 days and thousands of people of both the villages are facing multiple problems due to this”, they said.
They further said that the issue was brought into the notice of district administration and PMGSY authorities but no one from the Government machinery bothered to visit the place to take stock of the situation what to say of re-opening the road.
“This PMGSY Department, which had to complete the Kulwanta to Ladana road, by March 2017, has failed to accomplish the job till date, with the result that villagers are suffering because of laxity on the part of concerned authorities,” they said.
