Kuldeep Raj Gupta meets LG, raises Paharis’ issues

JAMMU, Nov 14: Senior BJP leader and former Vice Chairman, Pahari Speaking Board, Kuldeep Raj Gupta today raised the important issues of Pahari community’s in a point wise manner with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT), Girish Chandra Murmu.
Disclosing this to media persons here along with BJP Media incharge, Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, reiterated that Paharis are an intelligent and patriotic community which has always contributed to safeguard the boundaries of the nation as well as promoting the peace within the society.
Gupta, insisted that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and other top BJP leadership, the issues concerning the Pahari community have been taken on front foot but still there are some lacunae in the implementation of the facilities promised to the community at various levels.
Gupta, added that he met the LG and talked to him about the issues of Paharis. He said that as the representative of community, he apprised the LG of the exact number of Paharis in various areas, their issues and also handed over a book to him giving further information.
Gupta, said that three percent quota was sanctioned by the Central Government but till date it is not applicable for the development of Pahari speaking people of J&K State and said that its notification be issued at the earliest. He also raised the demand for the grant of ST status to the Pahari community.
Gupta, said that many Casual and daily wagers working in various agencies approached him in the past pleading that they didn’t receive their monthly pay for last many months. He requested the LG to look into the matter.
Gupta, raised the demand that specially abled, old age, widow pension be ensured to all the needy. He further requested that the standards of food and other facilities be upgraded in the hostel for students of Pahari community.
