Kulbir Singh lifts 54th Aghar Jitto Dangal title

Katra, June 11: Wrestler Kulbir Singh of Domana Akhara, resident of Kot Bhalwal Jammu, Patha Raj Hussain lifted “54th Annual Aghar Jitto Kesari dangal title 2017” by defeating Wrestler ASIF of Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi in the first malli bout that lasted for 21 minutes held at Village Aghar Jitto, near here today.  The Dangal was organized in the memory of great revolutionary Farmer Baba Jitto and Bua Kouri as part of three days historic and famous Mela.
Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes among the wrestlers in presence of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Baba Mohan Lal Ji, Sarpanch Krishan Singh (Pappu), ZEO Gopal Krishan Komal, Romesh Chander Sanmotra and Sunil Kohli.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council presided over the function, while SP Katra Sumir Kotwal, Tehsildar Katra Mohit Raina and DySP Katra Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma were the guests of honour.
Winner of 1st malli Wrestler Kulbir Singh was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta, while the runners-up Wrestler Asif got Rs 4,000-.
39 bouts were played in the event.
