KU Business School organizes mega food fest

Srinagar, June 18: Students of Kashmir University’s Business School today organized a mega food fest inside varsity campus aimed at promoting the local food outlets while as also donating the money generated during the fest to for the welfare of the poor in the society.
Scores of food outlets had erected their stalls in the varsity, with a large gathering of students and outsiders visiting the spot. The organizers said that they are eyeing that the fest will generate enough money so that they can help those who are in need.
Sadaan Yaqoob, a member of the organizing committee said that the event, while it will promote the emerging food outlets in Kashmir, will also help them in generating funds for the underprivileged lot of society.
“The sole aim, while we are promoting the food emerging food outlets in Kashmir is to generate funds for the poor and underprivileged section of the society; we are aiming at doing two things in one go,” he said while adding that the so far they have witnessed a good response from the University crowd.
He said that they have already decided that whatever profits will come out of the fest, the same will be given out as charity in order to take care of the needs of the poor. “We will be giving out the profits to an organization which is into the relief and rehabilitation of the poor section of the society,” he said.
The student community has also appreciated such a step taken in order to come to the help of the poor and underprivileged section of the society by resorting to creative and novel means to achieve the same.
“This is a novel and creative way of raising the money for the welfare of the poor in the society; I think more such events should be held on much larger scale in order to discharge our responsibilities we have towards this section living silently in our society,” said a Law student Deeba Ashraf.
