KPs observe July 13 as Black Day

JAMMU, July 13: Kashmiri Pandits observed July 13 as Black Day by recalling the atrocities committed on this day in 1931 on the community by the separatist and communal elements across the Kashmir Valley.
Global Hindu Federation organised a International Webinar today to observe the July 13, as Kashmiri Sankalp Divas in connection with 30th anniversary of the resolve of Hindus of Kashmir to get resettled in Kashmir Valley adopted on this day in 1990.
Addressing the Webinar Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo senior BJP and KP leader and incharge BJP’s Department of Political Affairs and Feedback said “It is today the culmination of a struggle of 90 years to make it known that the Hindus of Kashmir were brutally attacked and killed in 1931 by the communal elements opposed to the then Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir. And it was today, three decades back that the Hindus of Kashmir , under the able leadership of veteran leader Amarnath Vaishnavi, resolved to get resettled in Kashmir again after being ethnically cleansed through the weapon of genocide”.
The GHF extended complete support to cause of Kashmiri Pandits so far as their right to their land is concerned. Utpal Kaul senior KP leader also addressed the webinar.
Recalling the silent sufferings and brutal assault on Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley on the day of July 13, 1931 when criminal and anti nationals went berserk, protesting violently against the then Maharaja, laying the foundation of blood bath that is being orchestrated periodically since then in the name of separatism and terrorism, president All State Kashmir Pandit Conference (ASKPC), Advocate Ravinder Raina said that the sacrifices of KPs from 1931 to their ethnic cleansing in 1990 be redeemed by establishing a safe heaven overflowing with peace humanity and spirituality in the UT of J&K.
Others who paid tributes included Kuldeep Raina president Samajik Vikash Santha, Ashok Kangan of JKVM, Rajinder Kilm AIKPC, M K Yogi, T N Koul, Dr Ramesh Bhat, Vikram Koul, Shoki Liddoo etc.
Panun Kashmir also observed July 13 as Black Day. In view of lockdown a webinar was organized in which the tributes were paid to martyrs. The webinar was addressed by president PK, Virender Raina, general secretary, Kamal Bagati and Upidner Koul, Vimla Chrungoo of Daughters of PK, Sameer Bhat, Rajinder Koul, Ashok Chrungoo, Prof. S K Bhat , Vijay Sapru and Utpal Koul senior KP leader.
Virender Raina said that PK has decided to observe the day as Sankalp Diwas to take a pledge for the reclamation of the Homeland in Kashmir and not to rest till the goal is achieved. The speakers paid glowing tributes to KP martyrs who were killed by the communal elements on this day.
Kashmir Pandit Conference (KPC) also observed the Day as Black Day at Delhi, Jammu and other places with its activists wearing black badges as a mark of protest against the atrocities committed on the community in Valley on this day in 1931.
Addressing a gathering at Delhi to pay tributes to community martyrs’ Kundan Kashmiri president KPC said that the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits started on this day and hence the community is observing this day as Black Day since then. Dr H L Saraf, Tej Pandita, Susheel Bhat, M K Raian, P L Raina etc were among other KPC leaders to pay homage to community martyrs.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) president, Advocate M L Thusoo and convener P L Koul Budgami also paid glowing tributes to community martyrs on the occasion of July 13 and the activists of the organization observed it as a Black Day.
Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha also paid rich tributes to Hindu martyrs who laid down their lives on this day in 1931 and observed the day as Black Day. On this occasion KKHMS led by its president Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan paid tributes to those who were killed by communal forces on this day in Valley and other parts of J&K.
