JAMMU, Oct 16: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KHC) in a meeting at New Delhi today while terming the success in winning seat by India to Human Rights Council at United Nations (UNHRC) with highest number of votes in the Asia Pacific category vindication of India’s stand on human rights stated that it is as a matter of pride for the entire nation and this victory also indicated that our country has now emerged as the first choice at international fora amongst the member nations.
Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC while terming this win a matter of pride for the Indian nation for protecting human rights, questioned when human rights of victim KP community will be restored and how long this landless community has to live as refugees in their own country.
KPC president said that KPs want to know how long they have to wait, to be ignored, isolated and to be away from their basic rights and when they will be given right to live as per their choice as free citizen of Indian nation. He said, so for, neither NGOs nor any Human Right Body at national and international level and other foras has taken serious view of human right violations of KPs, with the result community has become demoralized and its sufferings have increased day by day.
He hoped that leadership of the nation at helm of affairs will take serious note of the human rights violations of the community which is in exile from the last 30 years and act at the earliest to give them justice.
