JAMMU, Apr 28: Kashmiri Pandit Conference( KPC) in a meeting at New Delhi vehemently criticized the State and Central Governments on their  failure in  redressing the grievances and considering the genuine demands of Kashmiri Pandit community.
KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri asked the Government to clearly come out with their  policy and agenda for over all development of KP community as well as for their permanent “one place settlement” in the Valley  with writ of Indian Constitution and abrogation of Article 370.
He further stated that the Government has failed to respect the sentiments of nationalist forces and morale of  security forces in the J&K State as it seems to be committed to lift AFSPA without taking into account the sacrifices of the security personnel in curbing the militancy for ensuring peace and it also seems eager for opening the  all routes in J&K with Pakistan for trade as well as for border tourism, which will be in the larger interest of Pakistan and not to our nation.
Condemning the defective policies of Government towards Pakistan, Kundan Kashmiri stated that Pakistan was always aggressive and unreasonable as its stand on Jammu and Kashmir is unambiguous which has proved in the recently held meeting of foreign secretaries of two nations. He said that it would have been appropriate if the Indian Foreign Secretary had debunked the claim over Kashmir by his Pakistani counterpart by putting things in right perspective by telling him that the talks will be only on the political future of – PoJK and Gilgit-Baltistan, which have been under the illegal occupation of Pakistan since 1947.
While supporting the demands of NIT Srinagar non- local students, Kundan Kashmiri stated that it is most unfortunate that these students are being punished for chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai, the manner Kashmiri Pandit were hounded out from the Valley for being staunch Indian nationalists.
