JAMMU, Nov 18: Various Kashmiri Pandit organisations held condolence meetings here today to mourn the demise of Shiv Sena Supremo, Balasahib Thackeray who breathed his last yesterday at Mumbai.
Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust held a condolence meeting here today in which the yeoman’s services of Sena founder were highlighted who stood like a rock with Kashmiri Pandits to relieve them of the pangs of migration.
The members observed two minutes silence in memory of departed soul and put on record his services for the community.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) also held a condolence meeting under the leadership of M L Thusso in which the services of Mr Thackeray to the country as a whole were highlighted. P L Koul Budgami convener KPC projected the Sena leader a great politician and humanist who left deep and abiding imprint on the country’s events and termed him a great force of strength for KPs at the time when they faced crisis.
Bharat Bhushan who fought the Assembly elections from Habba Kadal in 2002 on Sena ticket termed the demise of Mr Thackeray a great national loss. He said that the Sena leader left an indelible mark on countrymen and he will be remembered till this universe exists.
Chuni Lal Saraf an educationist and B L Bhat ex MLC have also mourned the demise of Mr Thackeray and termed it a great loss for KP community while recalling his yeoman’s services to the community during turmoil period.
Apex Committee member Roshan Lal Raina and Krishan Lal have also expressed profound shock and grief over demise of Mr Thackeray.
