Koul addresses series of BJP meetings in Leh

LEH (Ladakh), Oct 27: BJP State general secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, who is on 6-day tour of Ladakh and Kashmir, held a series of meetings with 9 block presidents of Leh district, district president of BJYM and Mahila Morcha and party’s councilors at Leh here today. He, alongwith National Executive Member, Thumpstan Chhewang, ex-CEC, former MLA & Leh district, president Tsering Dorjey, working president Lama Nyamtak, BJYM district president Dorjey Angchuk, Councillors D.M. Dorjey Mutup and Phusuk Angchok, inaugurated the recently constructed new hall and the renovated office complex.
Ashok Koul was briefed about each polling booth committee by the respective block presidents saying that 70 per cent of the booth committees have been framed and the remaining will be covered in next 2-3 weeks.
While addressing these meetings, Ashok Koul said that the party has always been raising the issue of discrimination with Ladakh and Jammu regions by successive Governments in the State and  shall continue to do so till the Kashmir-centric  Governments do not shed the policy of step-motherly treatment to Jammu and Ladakh.
Reiterating party’s resolve to support demand of inclusion of Bhoti language in 8th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, grant of UT status to Ladakh and opening of the traditional old and shortest route for Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage, Koul said that during the last few years, the people of Ladakh have realized that BJP has always been with them in joy, grief and sorrow and “we are coming up as a strong force in this desert region. He said that winning of four seats in Council are proof of the people’s desire that BJP need to be given a chance.
