JAMMU, Jan 15: “India Water Week 2015- Hamara Jal Hamara Jeevan” on the theme ‘Water Management for Sustainable Development’ was inaugurated today by Dr Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner Secretary PHE I&FC and chairman, WSSO at Institution of Engineers, Channi Himmat Jammu.
The programme was organized by Central Water Commission, CCDU Department of PHE I&FC, District Water Sanitation Mission and Central Ground Water Commission under the aegis of Ministry of Water Resources, River Management and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India through Program Implementation Agency – Jaipur Seva Foundation.
A similar programme was organized at District Pulwama which was inaugurated by DDC Pulwama  Sajad Ahmad in presence of Ghulam Rasool Mir, Additional Secretary PHE. The programme was organized through Program Implementation Agency – Self Development Institute.
Others present on the occasion at Jammu were KK Gupta- Chief Engineer, RTIC, H C Jerath, Chief Engineer, I&FC, Sushil Aima – Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu, R K Bhagat- Regional Director, Central Ground Water Commission, Sumir Kumar Shukla, Director, Central Water Commission, Dr Narinder Bhatial – Executive Director, CCDU, Sushil Kumar -Project Manager, Intergrated Water Shed Scheme, Rural Development Department, Engineers from the Department of PHE I&FC and Rural Development, Sarpanch, Panch and members of VWSCs and Integrated Water Shed Scheme Committees, Members of NGOs.
