Kotli Balidan Samiti pays tribute to martyrs of community, Army

JAMMU, Nov 27: A tribute meeting was organized at Master Devi Chand Municipal Park Kotli Colony Jammu by Kotli Balidan Samiti Kotli Colony to pay homage to their forefathers and Indian Army who sacrificed their lives for the sake of saving thousands of lives of their community in 1947.
People from all sections of the society participated in this event to pay rich tributes to their ancestors for their supreme sacrifice.
While addressing the gathering, Arun Chowdhary, who is convener of Kotli Balidan Samiti and also the President of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Jammu and Kashmir; appealed the Government that a sufficient piece of land be identified and a Smriti Bhawan along with a Sarai should be constructed in the pious memory of their ancestors who sacrificed their lives for their beloved nation. He also requested the Government to consider reservation in professional colleges and in jobs for the children of the displaced community.
While summing up his address, Arun Chowdhary appealed the Government to fulfill its promise to distribute the balance amount of Rs 30y lakhs to the displaced community. He also urged the Government that all the displaced families living outside Jammu and Kashmir should also be given all the facilities which are being given to the displaced families living in Jammu.
The main speakers, who paid tributes, included Councilor Arun Khanna, Kamal Gupta, Ashok Gupta, Veenu Khanna, Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Gramin Bank Sanjay Gupta, Bhagat Ram Bali.
Kamal Sharma, Arun Gupta and Divya Sharma enthralled the gathering with patriotic songs. Apart from many dignitaries of Kotli Colony, Councilor Anu Bali also attended the meeting.
In the end, Rajesh Chowdhary presented vote of thanks. A selfie point with a slogan “I Love Kotli” inscribed there, was centre of attraction and many people were seen taking selfies there.
