JAMMU: Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today flagged off first batch of skill development training programme for Schedule Tribe (ST) students of the state for Panchkula, Haryana.
The training is providing by the Department of Tribal Affairs to ST youths of the state under the centrally sponsored scheme ‘Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan’. the duration of this training is of three months and the first batch is comprising of 56 students.
Speaking on the occasion, Kohli said that skill development training programmes will help the students self dependent by establishing their income generating skill units. He also urged the youth of the state to avail the benefits of such types of schemes launched by the centre as well as state government for the uplift of weaker sections.
Among others who were present on the occasion includes Member Legislative Assembly, Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana, Director, Tribal Affairs, Mohammad Sharief Choudhary and staff.
