Kohli cautions youth against drug abuse

JAMMU, May 26: Former Minister, Abdul Gani Kohli cautioned youth against the drug abuse during a grand and spiritual function organized at the residence of Mufti-e-Azam Province Jammu, Mufti Muhammad Aslam Raza Misbahi at Khairi in Jammu today.
The event witnessed the participation of prominent religious scholars from across the district Jammu, along with social and public personalities, creating an atmosphere of unity, goodwill and community engagement.
Addressing the gathering, Kohli focused on the growing menace of drug addiction among youth. He expressed serious concern over the increasing spread of narcotics and described drug abuse as one of the most dangerous challenges confronting society today. He cautioned youth against the drug abuse.
Kohli stated that drug addiction not only destroys individuals but also affects families and weakens the very foundation of society. He emphasized that the younger generation is the future of the nation and must be protected through collective efforts by parents, teachers, religious scholars, and social organizations. He called upon all sections of society to play an active role in creating awareness against drugs and guiding youth towards education, moral values, skill development, and constructive activities.
Maulana Dr Javed Iqbal Alimi spoke on the importance of religious guidance and social harmony, appreciating the contributions of Mufti Muhammad Aslam Raza Misbahi in religious and community service. Mufti Farooq Hussain Misbahi, Shahi Imam Poonch, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the role of scholars in promoting ethical values and providing guidance to society, particularly to the younger generation.
Mufti Mohd Aslam Raza Misbahi urged the scholars to actively raise awareness against drug abuse during Friday sermons (Khutbahs) and educate people about the harmful effects of narcotics on individuals and society.
The Muslim scholars appreciated the initiative of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha against the drug-addiction.
