JAMMU, Aug 22: Young Anmol Rathore, hailing from the remote Udrana Village in Bhaderwah Town of Doda District, has secured the top position in the prestigious Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive Examination (JKCCE) 2022-23.
The results were announced today, with a total of 218 candidates qualifying for the medical examination.
Daughter of retired J&K Bank Manager Rajiv Rathore and GDC Kishtwar Principal Jyoti Rathore, Anmol received her early education at New Era Public High School Kishtwar and further schooling at GD Goenka School in Jammu.
After successfully passing the CLAT examination in 2016, Rathore pursued her BA LLB degree at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat, completing it in 2021.
Inspired by her parents, whom she considers her main motivators, Anmol attributed her success in the civil services examination to their support.
Although she had law as an optional subject, Anmol Rathore expressed surprise at her top ranking, admitting, “I hadn’t anticipated such an outcome.”
She conveyed her overwhelming joy at the achievement, stating that it might take some time for the reality of her success to sink in.
Notably, Anmol prepared for the examination without any formal coaching, relying solely on online study materials.
The 24-year-old firmly believes that her dedication and hard work have been rewarded, highlighting the value of diligence and commitment in achieving one’s goals.
Anmol achieved an impressive score of 1084.50 marks in her first attempt in 2022, securing the top position. Following her were Saurav Tagotra with 1074.50 marks and Akshay Parihar with 1073.50 marks, Mohammad Huzaif Sheikhzada with 1070 marks, Moin Khan with 1065.50 marks, Bushra Ashraf Shah with 1061 marks, Wajeeza with 1058.50 marks, Aditi Singhaal with 1056 marks, Annie Vaid with 1055 marks, and Ekshu Sharma with 1054 marks.
According to a communiqué issued by JKPSC, the General Administration Department (GAD), vide number GAD-SERVOKAS/2021-02-GAD dated April 18, 2022, referred a total of 220 posts to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for filling via the Combined Competitive Examination. These vacancies were advertised by the Commission under notification number 08-PSC (DR-P) of 2022, issued on April 19, 2022.
For the preliminary examination, the communiqué said, a provisional admission was granted to 34,121 candidates.
Additionally, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) allowed three candidates to appear, it said, adding that the preliminary examination took place on July 31, 2022, with 23,571 candidates participating.
Meeting the commission’s criteria, a total of 4,944 candidates were declared qualified for the Mains Examination. Consequently, the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination 2022 was conducted from February 20, 2023, to March 2, 2023, in Jammu and Srinagar. A total of 3,891 candidates appeared for all the papers.
Following the criteria set by the commission, 787 candidates were deemed eligible for the interviews. The personality tests for these candidates were conducted from July 10, 2023, to August 22, 2023. However, five candidates did not attend the interview.
The communiqué said that in a meeting held today, the commission made decisions regarding the interview results.
It said the Commission declared the result of 772 out of 782 candidates who participated in the interview, while the result of 10 candidates was withheld due to eligibility concerns that needed clarification.
“218 candidates with the highest aggregate merit have been directed by the Commission to undergo a medical examination,” it said.
Pertinently, the medical examination of the successful candidates will be conducted on August 23 and 24 at medical boards in various locations such as GMC Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Handwara, Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri, Srinagar, and Udhampur, based on the candidates’ preferences.
