Kisan Sabha extends support to Sept 25 Bandh

JAMMU, Sept 22: The Kisan Sabha has extended support to all India Bandh call for September 25 announced by All India Kisan Sangharash Coordination Committee to protest against Farm Bills passed by the Government.
In a meeting Kisan Sabha president, Hari Chand Jalmeria termed the three Farm Bills-Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill 2020, Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 as anti-farmers in the long run.
He said that by this the Government will open gates of free trade to the big business houses in agriculture sector for profit motive which in no way would benefit farmers. Jalmeria also claimed that this will badly affect the food security system in the country and the farmers would be left at the mercy of traders.
He further maintained that the necessity is to ensure highest minimum support price and ensured procurement of farmers’ produce and ensured food security to the people of the country.
Other present in the meeting were Dr. Ghanisham Singh Charak, Uday Chand, Master Swarn Singh, Rafiq Shah, Mohinder Singh Andotra, Balwant Singh, Tek Chand Sapolia, Dewan Chand, Rashpal Singh, Ravi Kumar, Romesh Singh, Punnu Ram Jamodia and Chuni Lal Mistri.
