Kidnapping bid foiled, driver held

RAJOURI, June 4: Police today foiled a kidnapping bid with the arrest of a driver near Panja Chowk, falling under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station.
As per police sources, a girl sitting in a car bearing registration number JK11-2151 started raising hue and cry near Panja Chowk.
After hearing the cries of girl, a police team from Rajouri police station started chasing the vehicle and stopped it at some distance.
From the car, police rescued the girl and arrested the kidnapper, who has been identified as Shafiq Ahmed Bakerwal, son of Abdul Majid Bakerwal, a resident of Mubarak Pura Thandi Kassi.
The girl hailing from Saaj Thana Mandi, presently residing at Aiti in her statement to police alleged that she was kidnapped by the driver of the car and was taking her towards Jammu.
A case under FIR number 279/14 under Section 366 RPC has been registered at Rajouri police station and investigation stared.
The arrest was made by SHO Rajouri Police Station Yash Pal Jamwal under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi.
