Kidnapped minor rescued, accused arrested

JAMMU, Dec 3: Akhnoor police rescued a kidnapped minor girl from Pathankot and nabbed the accused.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Surinder Kumar, son of Sewa Ram, a resident of Ward Number 2, Pacca Danga, Akhnoor, with police station Akhnoor yesterday stating that his minor daughter left the house on November 12 and didn’t return.
During search of the girl, the family came to know that their daughter has been kidnapped by Gulshan Kumar alias Abhi, son of Tarsem Lal, a resident of Thangu road, Old Sabzi Mandi, Pathankote, the complainant added.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 221/15 under Section 363 RPC was registered at Akhnoor police station and manhunt was launched to trace out the kidnapped girl and arrested the accused.
On specific information, police team from Akhnoor police station conducted raid at Pathankote and rescued the kidnapped girl. The accused tried to escape, but police also nabbed him.
The girl was restored to family members after completing legal formalities.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
