RAMBAN, May 14: Banihal police rescued a kidnapped girl and nabbed the accused.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged few years back by family members of a girl hailing from Banihal lodged a complaint with Banihal police station stating that their daughter has been kidnapped by Mohammad Yoqoub Gujar, son of Qadir Gujar of Phagoo Doligam.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 94/14 under Section 363 RPC was registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
On specific information, a team from Banihal police station led by Inspector Nazir Ahmed Dar conducted raid at Bagkura, Srinagar and rescued the kidnapped girl. The accused tried to escape, but police also nabbed him.
The girl was restored to family members after completing legal formalities.
During further investigation, it came to fore that the accused is also involved in a case registered under FIR Number 157/2013 under Section 447, 379 and 427 RPC with police station Banihal.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
