SRINAGAR, June 5: Police in Kulgam today recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the kidnapper within 24 hours.
A police spokesperson said that the Police Station DH Pora received a complaint stating that a girl has been kidnapped by Aabid Hussain Khan resident of Gudder Kulgam.
Accordingly, Case FIR No. 83/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS DH Pora and investigation was initiated.
A special team headed by SHO DH Pora while acting on the specific leads were able to recover the kidnapped girl and also arrested the kidnapper within 24 hours after the complaint was received. He has been shifted to PS DH Pora where he remains in custody.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. The investigation into the matter is in progress.
Swift action by police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhoods.
