Kichloo chairs Rogi Kalyan Samiti meet

KISHTWAR, May 12: Minister of State for Industries and Commerce and Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today chaired a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of district Kishtwar.
The Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kishtwar, Dr. G.M.Naqeeb put forth the agenda of the meeting and appraised the Minister that presently District Hospital Kishtwar is over-burdened due to the lack of specialists and special medical facilities. He strongly pleaded for establishment of emergency hospitals at Padder and Chhatroo besides up-gradation of Community Health Centre at Marwah.
He also listed various proposals which included white wash of hospital, construction of boundary wall to avoid trespassing, repair of approach road to hospital, insecticide spray, provision for parking space, cabins for doctors and nurses, opening of a canteen and Medical Fair Price shop through Red Cross Society and mortuary for District Hospital.
The Minister passed the directions to PWD for repairing of approach road for hospital. He directed the Health Department to ensure Ambulances for Padder, Dachhan and Palmar. He assured that the honorarium of Safaiwallas would be enhanced to Rs. 500. He announced that out of his salary, he will provide blankets to District Hospital and other health centres of the area.
The meeting was apprised that a Sick New Born Care Unit (SNCU) would be established in District Hospital for providing added medicare to the people of the area.
Later, the BMOs of Padder, Dachhan and Chhatroo presented their budget statements and listed their demands which included construction of labour room at Dachhan, filling the vacancies in Sub Centres and provision of water supply and quarters for staff.
