SRINAGAR, Nov 21: Common Service Centres (CSC) Association known as Khidmat Centres today staged a protest against the Government and chairman Jammu and Kashmir Bank for their failure to release gap support as announced by the Government.
The protesters said more than 1100 qualified youth were taken some 4-years back by the Government into this project and were promised that every support would be provided to them till their Khidmat centers start generating revenue, but the bank Chairman’s reluctance paid heavy toll on these unemployed youth, as none of the promises made by him were fulfilled.
“Qualified youth across state were taken under this National E-governance project and loans were raised against us with the promise that revenue generating service would be made available to them, but nothing happened on ground,” they said.
They demanded that the gap support be provided with retrospective effect as was announced by Chief Minister in October last year, electricity bill collection service be transferred to Khidmat centers without further delay as it almost stands cleared from all the corners concerned, other G 2C services like employment registration, social welfare etc which were promised to be channalized through Khidmat centers.
The association warned the Government that if it fails to address the genuine demands within one week, they will common on roads to stage protests.
