LEH, (Ladakh) Aug 21: BJP National Vice-President, MP & J&K prahari Avinash Rai Khanna, alongwith Member of Parliament Thumpstan Chhewang, State Vice-President Sat Sharma(MLA) and state general secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, addressed one day Convention of BJP Leh District, wherein he reviewed the membership drive and Mahasampark Abhiyaan.
Khanna also discussed the party’s strategy for the elections to Hill Development Council and asked the local leaders to further strengthen the party at each block level and every activist be given responsibility to reach atleast 100 voters so that BJP registers splendid victory in HDC elections. He said that the people of Ladakh had returned BJP candidate to the Lok Sabha last year and now again they have made up their mind to repeat their faith in the programmes and policies of the party in the next elections of Hill Development Council. He advised the Party activists to remain in touch with the people and work towards mitigating their problems.
Thumpstan Chhewang, while addressing the Convention, briefed about the resolution adopted in the last Convention and suggested ways and means for overall development of the district.
Ashok Koul, in his address, said that BJP’s organisational set up in the entire desert region of Ladakh is well knit now, the units at each level have been framed, party activists have developed good rappot with the people and it will obviously bring good results for the party.
Sat Sharma briefed the party activists attending this convention about the varioud schemes and developmental activities being undertaken by the party’s elected representatives. He said that an era of development has begun across the State.
District vice-president Nazir Ahmed presented vote of thanks, while district President Dawa, BJYM district President Dorjey Mutup, Mahila Morcha President and four Councillors also expressed their views for strengthening the party.
Earlier in the morning, during his short halt at Jammu before leaving for Leh, Avinash Rai Khanna chaired a joint meeting of Mahila, Yuva, Kissan and SC Morchas alongwith State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, State general secretaries Munish Sharma and Dr. Narinder Singh and State Vice-President & MLC Ramesh Arora (Adv.). During this meeting also, different ongoing programmes were reviewed and discussions were held for forthcoimng programmes including “Rakshabandhan day” programme, “Atal Pension Scheme” “Panch Kranti” programme etc.
During the meeting, Jugal Kishore Sharma, announced that after consultation with Avinash Rai Khanna and State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, the party has nominated Munish Sharma as Incharge for the “Raksha Bandhan” Programmes and Dr.Narinder Singh will also be extend his advice for undertaking said programmes in the State.
