Srinagar, Mar 1: After cracking down on power theft across Kashmir, KDPCL is now targeting ground staff, particularly linemen and other concerned officers, for AT&C losses in their areas.
In this regard, several show-cause notices have been issued by KDPCL authorities to field officers in areas where losses have been observed, demanding explanations from the linemen before taking action.
These notices specifically address billing efficiency, highlighting AT&C losses attributed to hooking, resulting in revenue loss to the government.
Recipients of these notices are required to clarify their stance within 3 days or face necessary legal action.
“The billing efficiency in your feeder is merely 26%, leading to 77% of AT&C losses…you have failed to discharge your duties with absolute devotion and integrity,” reads one of the show cause notices sent to a lineman in Sub-Division Nawa Kadal.
In another instance, a Junior Engineer in Sheikh Bagh, Srinagar, has also been summoned to respond to observed AT&C losses in his area. Other areas where these actions have been initiated so far include Nishat and Dalgate.
