JAMMU, July 19: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta along with officers of various departments today visited various localities of Greater Kailash, Naibasti, Rampura, Sainik Colony and took stock of the ongoing works.
Gupta was accompanied by X-En, PWD (R&B), Mohammad Abdullah; X-En PHE, VK Khajuria; X-En PDD, Sudhir Gupta; Vinay Gupta, Baldev Billoria, Jaideep Sharma and prominent citizens of the area.
Closely overlooking the works undertaken by PHE, JMC and PDD in these areas, Gupta directed the concerned officials to keep a close eye on these works and maintain their quality and further ensure their timely completion.
He also interacted with the families of flood victims and asked the concerned officers to assess the damages suffered by every family and furnish the details in the shortest possible time so that the process of compensating these people can be initiated at the earliest. He assured the people of the area that the present dispensation is always on the disposal of the public to address their grievances.
Responding to the demands put forth by the residents of the localities, Gupta said that the process of improving the electricity supply, water supply, up gradation of lanes and drains and moreover the placement of adequate staff in schools and PHCs has already been taken up at the appropriate level and these things will be rectified very soon. He also directed for renovation of nallah at Greater Kailash at the earliest.
